This is episode 99...of my music podcast
Not strictly MY music podcast, but a friend and I have been doing this podcast for a few years now. Since late 2006 to be exact. We’ve been recording ‘Needle In A Speakerstack’ for a laugh. Keeps me up to date with new music - even if no one is listening. And now…we have one more episode to the almighty 100! Here’s the iTunes and the website link if you want to...

Elbow - Mirrorball (live)
I plant the kind of kiss That wouldn’t wake a baby On the self same face The lie wouldn’t let me sleep And the street is singing with my feet And dawn gives me a shadow I know to be taller All down to you, dear Everything has changed My sorry name Has made it to graffiti I was looking for Someone to complete me Not anymore, dear. Everything has changed You make the moon a...

My Top 10 songs of 2009
Here they are, in no particular order…the official video is here when I could find it. Florence and the Machine - Drumming Song This is my number 1 for the year, no question. Official video cannot be shared but click here to see it on YouTube. Bill Callahan - All Thoughts Are Prey to Some Beast Creepiest, darkest song realeased last year. Quite a voice this man has. Like it, I do. ...

Homeopathy: There's nothing in it →
I can’t think of a better campaign to get behind this year than this one. The world has no need for this sort of thing any more. It “dilutes” things that can actually help people and is a blight on the evolved human race. Homeopathy: There’s nothing in it | The 10:23 Campaign

Pretending the climate email leak isn't a crisis... →
Well worth a read. “…fossil fuel industries have employed “experts” to lie, cheat and manipulate on their behalf. The revelations in their book are 100 times graver than anything contained in these emails.” …but these emails need to be addressed.

Favourite two-letter words
My phone contacts disappeared. It’s a long story and it’s a mixture of my fault and the phone contacts backup system doing something weird. Anyway, in order to get people to resend me their name via SMS so I could add them to my phone contacts again I asked a question. “Send me your name and you favourite two-letter word”. Some didn’t take me seriously, “Oh I...

A day in Milan
So we were in Milano in June this year - Jesse, Jimmy and me. Well, Leah, Jasmine and Daina were there too but they were at the conference - the main reason we were in this northern Italian city at all. We were left with nothing better to do than drink coffee, wine and to explore the city. On this day we decided to head away from Piazza Duomo which contained the popular tourist attraction, Duomo...
